یشٹی

यिƴ yashṭi, s.f. (rarely m.), or यƴीyashṭī, s.f. A staff, stick, wand; a staff armed with iron, etc. (used as a weapon); a mace, a club (see the pop. lāṭhī); a pole; a flagstaff;—a perch; stem; support; a palisade;—the arm and fore-arm;—a string, thread; a string of pearls; a necklace;—liquorice;—the plant Clerodendrum siphonanthus; any creeping plant:—yashṭimadhu, s.m. Liquorice, or the root of the Abrus precatorius (which is used instead of it).
