यशस् yaśas (changeable in comp. to yaśah, or yaśo), s.m. Glory, splendour; fame, etc. (see the contrac. form yaś):—yaśo-dā, s.f. (lit.'glory-giving'), Name of the wife of the cowherd Nand, and the foster-mother of Krishṇ:—yaśas-kām, adj. & s.m. See the contrac. form yaś-kām, s.v. yaś:—yaśas-kar, adj.=yaś-kar, q.v.:—yaśo-matī, s.f.=yaśo-dā, q.v.;—s.f. The third lunar night:—yaśas-vat, yaśas-vān, or yaśas-want, adj. (f. -vatī), Possessing honour or glory, full of honour, honourable; glorious, famous (syn. yaśasvī).
