چھٹی

छटी ćhaṭī= H چھٹھی छठी ćhaṭhī[Prk. छट्ठी; S. षƵी], s.f. The sixth day after the birth of a child (on this day the house undergoes a thorough cleaning, the midwife receives her present, the mother and child are bathed, the child is named, and friends are invited to dinner):—ćhaṭhī-kādūdh yād dilānā(-ko), To beat severely:—ćhaṭī-kākhānā, s.m. Meats prepared on the sixth day after the birth of a child:—ćhaṭī-kākhāyā-piyānikālnā, To beat or chastise severely.
