चपेटा ćapeṭā[S. चपेट+कः], s.m. The palm with the fingers extended; a slap, thump, cuff; a stroke, shock, a sudden misfortune; blast or influence (of an evil spirit); risk, loss, injury (cf. jhapaṭṭā; jhapeṭ);—adj. & s.m. Taken by violence, snatched; illegitimate;—an illegitimate son, a bastard.
