mumtāz (pass. part. of اِمتاز 'to be separated, be made distinct,' etc., viii of ماز (for) میز , 'to separate,' etc.), part. adj. Separated, or set apart (from), chosen, or selected (from); distinguished; select; exalted; illustrious, eminent, pre-eminent:—mumtāz karnā, v.t.
