mamdūḥ(pass. part. of مدح 'to praise'), part. adj. Praised, celebrated; famous; laudable, commendable;—above-mentioned, aforesaid;—s.m. One who is praised; the hero (of a poem, etc.):—mamdūḥ-ilaih (i), adj. Above-cited, afore-mentioned.
