muta’abbid (act. part. of تعبّد 'to devote ooneself to religious exercises'; 'to become refractory' (a camel); v of عبد 'to serve or adore God,' etc.), adj. Devout; religious overmuch;—refractory, unmanageable, stubborn (a camel).
