ḥikmat (for A. حكمة , v.n. fr. حكم ), s.f. Wisdom; knowledge, science; philosphy;—mystery; miracle;—cleverness, skill, art, contrivance, ingenuity, device, address; management, frugality, economy;—the functions of a physician:—ḥikmat-se, adv. Skilfully; with management, prudently, etc.:—ḥikmat-ě-`amalī, s.f. Practical skill; judicious management, tact, savoir faire:—ḥikmat karnā, To exercise wisdom or skill, etc.; to contrive, scheme, plot;—to practise physic.
