अगम agam, = S آگم आगम āgam, s.m. Coming, approach, advent; entrance; acquisition; futurity, the future, the next world; a śāstra containing spells and incantations dictated by Mahādeva; a śāstra or work on sacred science; the Vedas; the East; (in law), voucher, document:—āgam-bāt, s.f. Prophecy, prediction:—āgam bāṅdhnā, v.n. To determine the future, to fore-tell, prophesy:—āgam-bāṇī, s.f. Prophesying, etc.=āgam-bāt, q.v.:—agambidyā(āgam-vidyā), s.f. The art or science of prognosticating, prognostication, divination, augury, fortune-telling:—āgam-baktā, s.m. Prognosticator; one who tells the doctrines of the Agam = āgam-jānī, āgam jnānī(or gyānī), s.m.
