नािरयल nāriyal[Prk. णािलएलो; S. नािरकेलः], s.m. The cocoa-nut tree, Cocos mucifera;—a cocoa-nut;—a ḥuqqamade of a cocoa-nut;—a kind of fire-work (made of a cocoa-nut shell charged with gunpowder);—(met.) the head, skull:—nāriyal-kāpānī, Milk of a cocoa-nut;—nāriyal-kātel, Cocoa-nut oil:—nāriyal-kīrū`ī, A kind of soft downy substance (of a light-brown colour) found on the exterior of the lower part of the leaves or branches of the cocoa-nut tree (it is used as a styptic, and for tinder):—nāriyal-kāguṛ, Molasses made from the juice of the cocoa-nut palm.
