गांझा gāṅjhā[prob. S. गृ ञ्ज+कः, or गृ ञ्जनकः], s.m. The hemp-plant, Cannabis sativa; the leaves or young buds of the hempplant (the fructification, when nearly ripe, is bruised and smoked for intoxication: the dried leaves are ground in water, and drunk for the same purpose; in this state it is called bhaṅg, or sabzī):—gānjhe-wālā(or gāṅje-wālā), s.m. A vendor of gāṅjāor intoxicating preparations of hemp.
