छत ćhat [S. छिद or छिदः rt. छद्], s.f. A roof; a ceiling; a ceiling-cloth;—a platform:—ćhat banānā, ćhat pāṭnā, To ceil, to cover the inner roof of a building:—ćhat-gīrī, s.f. A ceiling-cloth (=ćādar-ćhat):—ćhat lagānā= ćhat banānā, q.v.
