पुं puṅ(see puṅs), s.m. Male, male being, man (used chiefly in comp.):—puṅ-savan, adj. & s.m. Bringing forth a male; causing the birth of a male child;—the first of the essential ceremonies of Hindūinitiation, a religious and domestic festival held on the mother's perceiving the first signs of a living conception:—puṅ-śakti, s.f.
