पाठ pāṭh (rt. paṭh), s.m. Reading, perusal, study, recital (esp. sacred study); text of reading; lecture; lesson, task:—pāṭh-bhu, s.f. Place where the Vedas are read or studied:—pāṭh paṛhnā, pāṭh karnā, v.n. To read, study; to repeat or revise a lesson; to recite or repeat daily portions of the Vedas, etc.:—pāṭh denā(-ko), To give a lecture (to):—pāṭh-śālā, pāṭhsālā, s.f. Reading-room, lecture-hall, schoolhouse, college, primary (Hindī) school:—pāṭh-śālinī, pāṭh manjarī, s.f. A particular small bird, Graculus religiosa:—pāṭh-guru, s.m. Reading-master; professor of elocution; preceptor, teacher, schoolmaster:—pāṭhvān, pāṭh-vant, s.m. A learned person.
