पास pās[S. पाƳȶ ], adv. & postpn. (gov. gen. with -ke), At the side (of), beside, alongside, near, about (the person, etc.), in the possession (of); at hand, close by, in the neighbourhood (of):—pās ānā, v.n. To come near (to, -ke), to approach, have access (to), to reach, come up (to):—pās baiṭhnā(-ke), To sit near, or by, or in the company (of); to live (with); to sit (under a preacher); to learn (from); to adhere or stick (to), to follow:—pās-pās, adv. Approximately, nearly, about, thereabouts:—pās-paṛos, s.m. Neighbour, etc.=ās-pās, q.v.:—pās rakhnā, v.t.
