वैकुण्ठ vaikuṇṭh (fr. vi-kuṇṭha), s.m. A name of Vishṇu;—and of Indra;—the paradise or heaven of Vishṇu (its site is variously described as in the northern ocean or on the eastern peak of Mount Meru;—cf. baikunṭh):—vaikuṇṭh-nāth, s.m. 'Lord of Vaikuṇṭh,' an epithet of Vishṇu:—vaikuṇṭhvāsī, vulg. baikunṭh-bāsī, adj. & s.m. (f. -inī), Inhabiting paradise; deceased;—an inhabitant of paradise; a deceased person;—a celestial being.
