wasīla (for A. وسیلة wasīlat, v.n. fr. وسّل ; see wasālat), s.m. Propinquity, affinity;—cause, means, occasion, conjuncture;—support, prop;—that which unites, connects, or effectuates; means (of effecting anything), help, mediation, intervention, interposition; whatever conciliates the favour (of a person,—as a present, or merit, etc.);—favour, patronage, interest:—wasīla paidākarnā, To provide the means (for effecting one's object); to make interest:—wasīla-dār, s.m. A client, dependant:—wasīla-dārī, s.f. Clientage; dependance:—wasīla rakhnā, To have interest:—wasīle-se (-ke), adv. By means (of), by the intervention (of), through:—wasīla-ě-fāsid, s.m. Corrupt means:—wasīla-e-nā-jā`iz, s.m. Illegal means:—wasīla-yāfta, adj. Supplied with means; enabled;—ba-wasīla (-ě), adv.=wasīle-se, q.v.:—be-wasīla, adj.
