होम homa, vulg. hom, s.m. An oblation with clarified butter, a burnt-offering, a sacrifice; the casting clarified butter, etc. into fire as an offering to the gods, accompanied with invocations and prayers according to the objects of sacrifice:—hom-dhenu, s.f. A sacrificial cow:—hom karnā, To perform the hom:—hom-karne-wālā, s.m. One who performs the hom;—a fire-worshipper.
