िहन्दी hindī[hind, q.v. + ī= S. इकः(इन् +कः), and इका; or ईयःand इया], adj. Belonging or relating to India; Indian;—s.f. The language of the (Hindū) people of India (it is applied to the various dialects, as well as to the literary language, usually called High Hindī).
