hast[v.n. fr. hastan, rt. Zend ah= S. अस् ], s.f. Existence, being (i.q. hastī);—(pres. tense, 3rd pers. sing. of hastan) is, exists:—hast-o-būd, or hast-būd, s.f.(?) 'What is and was'; a calculation of the data of the present and past; present actual state (of revenue, or income) compared with former years;—an estimate of the assets of a tract of land;—rentroll;—(corr. of hast-nā-būd) a remission granted by zamīndārsfor the portion of land failing in produce.
