نقیب

naqīb (v.n. fr. نقب 'to inquire (after news); to relate or retail (news),' etc.), s.m. A chief, a leader;—an intelligent person;—a servant or herald whose business it is to proclaim the titles of his master, and to introduce those who pay their respects to him;—an adjutant, or aide-de-camp;—a procurer, an agent.
