nifās, vulg. nafās (v.n. fr. نَفُسََ 'to be precious,' etc.), s.m. Childbirth, labour;—bringing forth lochiaor the natural discharge of blood after childbirth;—secundines, the afterbirth;—the forty days (of a woman) after childbirth.
