nash (v.n. fr. نعش '(God) to exalt (a person),' etc.), s.f. A bier (usually with a corpse); a coffin;—a litter (on which a sick person is carried);—a catafalque (on which a royal corpse is laid):—banātu`n-nash, or banāt-ě-nash, s.f. 'The daughters of the Bier'; the constellation of the Bear (as well 'The Greater' as 'The Lesser'; they are both called the Bier; the three stars which go before the Bier being called banāt, and every individual star ibn nash.
