िनःतारा nis-tārā[S. िनःतार+कः], = S نستار िनःतार nis-tār (rt. तॄwith िनस् ), s.m. Crossing, passing over or across; getting rid of, or away from; liberation, release, escape, acquittal; remission (of sins), final emancipation, salvation, beatitude;—blessing;—payment, discharge (of a debt), acquittance, definitive settlement, adjustment; requital; decision, decree:—nistār-kartā, or kartri, s.m. = nistārak, q.v.:—nistār-vīj, s.m. The means of crossing (the ocean of life), a cause of final liberation; faith in any deity:—nistārākarnā, v.t. To liberate, release, acquit;—to exempt (the soul) from further transmigration;—to discharge (a debt, etc.), to pay; to requite (i.q. nistārnā).
