mu`nis, vulg. mūnis (act. part. of آنس 'to behave in a sociable or friendly manner with,' etc., iv of سأن 'to be or become sociable,' etc.), part. adj. Solacing, consoling, cheering;—s.m. A sociable companion; an intimate friend; a solacer, consoler;—Thursday (so called, because on that day the ancient Arabs used to incline to places of pleasure).
