muqīm (act. part. of اقام 'to stop, rest, stay,' etc., iv of قام (for قوم ) 'to stand,' etc.), part. adj. & s.m. Stopping, staying, remaining, residing;—fixed; assiduous; constant; persevering;—a dweller, resident, inhabitant;—an appraiser, a broker;—a wholesale greengrocer:—muqīm honā, v.n. To stay, put up (in or at, -meṅ), to dwell, abide; to halt;—to be assiduous, to persevere (in).
