mashaqqat (for A. مشقة , inf. n. of ش قّ 'to distress; to be distressing; to be difficult,' etc.), s.f. Inconvenience, trouble, labour, pains, toil, assiduity; distress, pain, affliction, misfortune:—mashaqqat-ě-shadīd, Hard labour:—bā-mashaqqat, With labour:—bā-mashaqqat-o-jaulān, With labour and in irons:—bilā-mashaqqat, Without labour.
