murshid (act. part. of ارشد 'to cause (one to take or follow a right way or course,' iv of رشد 'to take or follow a right way,' etc.), s.m. A guide to the right way (i.e. to salvation), a spiritual director or guide; director, instructor, monitor;—the head of a religious order;—(ironically) a knowing fellow; a knave.
