marḥala (for A. مرحلة marḥalat, n. of place fr. رحل 'to remove, depart, journey,' etc.), s.m. A day's journey, a stage;—the place or time of travelling; a place of alighting or abode; a halting-place, or station, or inn (for travellers);—a battery; bastion (of a fort):—marḥala-dār, s.m. The watchman of the road between two halting-places or stations.
