měḥwar (v.n., or n. of instr., fr. حور 'to return; to turn round,' etc.), s.m. Axis (of a pulley, etc.); an axletree (of wood or iron); the pin on which the tongue of a buckle turns:—měḥwar-ě-zamīn, Axis of the earth.
