متھرا

मथुरा mathurā, s.f. Name of a district and city in the province of Agra (it is held in great honour as the birth-place and early residence of Krishṇa, and is still important as a favourite resort of Hindūpilgrims):—mathurā-bāsī= mathurā-vāsī, q.v.:—mathurā- purī, s.f. The city of Mathurā(Anglice, 'Muttra'):—mathurā-wālā(f. -in, or -ī), and mathurā-vāsī(f. -inī), s.m. An inhabitant of Mathurā.
