mubtadā(pass. part. of viii of بدأ 'to begin'), s.f. Beginning, commencement; (in Gram.) an inchoative (correl. of ḵẖabar); principle or subject of a proposition; a substantive noun in the nominative case:—mubtadā-o-ḵẖabar, s.f. The inchoative and enunciative, the subjectand predicate, the substantive and adjective.
