मारे māre (oblique form of part. mārā, q.v.), postpn. 'Being stricken with,' for, through, because (of, -ke), by reason (of), on account (of), in consequence (of), for the sake (of;—māremay also precede the word it governs, e.g. ḍar-ke māre, or māre ḍar-ke, 'through fear').
