कड़खै त kaṛkhait[kaṛkhā, or kaṛkā+ ait=Prk. आइंतो=आवेंतो=S. आपयन् (the termination of the pres. part., with the caus. augment āpi)], s.m. An officer in Indian armies whose business it is to encourage the soldiers by the exhortations called kaṛkhā, a kind of Indian Tyrtaeus; a bard (bhāṭ).
