كوس

कोस kos[S. बोशः], s.m. A measure of length equal to about two English miles (but varying in different parts of India), a league;—a mile-stone:—kāle kos, s.m. lit.'Long leagues'; a great distance:—kaṛākos, A stiff two miles, a distance of more than two miles:—gau-kos, The distance at which one can hear the lowing of a cow, a short kos:—naram kos, An easy (or a short) kos.
