कƴ kashṭ, s.m. Evil; difficulty; bad state of things; penury, want, misery, wretchedness; pain, uneasiness, affliction, acuteness of pain, agony, suffering, distress, hardship; vehemence, violence; inconvenience, trouble, labour, effort, pains:—kashṭuṭhānā, or kashṭpānā, To suffer pain or distress, etc.:—kashṭdenā(-ko), To afflict, trouble, molest, persecute, hurt:—kashṭ-sādhya, adj. Accomplishable with effort or difficulty:—kashṭ-kar, adj. Occasioningpain, or trouble, etc.:—kashṭkarnā, To make an effort, to take pains or trouble.
