qaṣd (inf. n. of قصد 'to intend; to propose to oneself,' etc.), s.m. Intention, design, purpose, resolve, aim, object; project, attempt, endeavour; desire, wish, will, inclination:—qaṣd rakhnā(-kā), To entertain the design (of); to harbour designs (against):—qaṣd karnā(-kā), To form the design (of), to propose to oneself; to intend, design, purpose, resolve, etc.; to endeavour, strive; to attempt, make an attempt (at or on); to make (a thing or a person) one's object or aim, to aim (at); to pursue; to make (for), journey (towards); to strike (at), form a design (against), to attack, to venture (on):—qaṣd-ě-musammam, s.m. Fixed resolution, firm intention.
