qarīn (v.n. fr. قرن 'to join,' etc.; see qarn), adj. & s.m. Joined, conjoined, connected, next, contiguous, adjoining; adhering; akin, related, allied;—a friend, companion, associate; an equal; a contemporary; one of the same age:—qarīnu’lwuqū, adj. = qarību’l-wuqū, q.v.s.v. qarīb:—qarīnu’l-inṣāf, or qarīn-ě-inṣāf, adj. Equitable, just:—qarīnu’l-’aql, or qarīn-ě-’aql, adj.=qarību’l-fahm, q.v.s.v. qarīb:—qarīnu’lqabūl, or qarīn-ě-qabūl, adj. Acceptable, agreeable:—qarīn-ě-maṣlaḥat, adj.
