faẓīḥat (for A. فضیحة , v.n. fr. فضح 'to disgrace,' etc.), s.f. Disgrace, shame, ignominy, infamy;—any disgraceful or shameful thing; a vice, fault; stigma, stain;—exposing the vices or faults of; abusing; quarrelling, wrangling (this word, which is one of very common occurrence, is corrupted by the uneducated to fajītī,fajītā, phajīta, fadīyat, phadīyat, etc.):—faẓīḥat karnā(-kī), To disgrace, put to shame; to expose the faults or vices (of), to defame, to render infamous;—to wrangle, quarrel:—faẓīḥat honāor ho-jānā, v.n. To be disgraced, be exposed to shame or infamy, become infamous (syn. ruswāhonā).
