فانوس

fānūs (prob. Gr. φαροςarabicized), s.f. A pharos, lighthouse; a lantern; (in Urdū) a glass shade (of a candlestick, etc.):—fānūs-ě-ḵẖiyālor ḵẖiyālī, orfānūs-ě-gardān, or ćarḵẖīfānūs, A Chinese lantern; a lantern into which a light framework with pictures attached thereto is inserted (the framework and pictures are caused to revolve by the smoke of the candle); a phantasmagoria; a magic lantern.
