’aks (inf. n. of عكس 'to reverse,' etc.), s.m. The reverse (of), the converse, or the contrary (of); counterpart; inversion; reflection (syn. parćhā`oṅ), a shadow, a reflected image (as in a mirror, or water, etc.);—opposition; spite:—’aks utārnā, or ’aks khaiṅćnā(-kā), To take the reflected image (of), to take a silhouette, or a photograph, etc.:—bar ‘aks (-ke), On the reverse (of); contrary (to), in opposition (to);—bar ‘aks is-ke, On the reverse (or the back) of this;—on the contrary.
