ta`na (for A. طعنة , n. of un. fr. ta`n, q.v.), s.m. Blame, reproach, chiding, taunting, taunt, reviling, ridicule, scoff, gibe, derision; ignominy, disgrace; aspersion:—ta`na-tashna (corr. of ta`na-tashnī`), s.m. pl. Taunts, scoffs, gibes, sneers, etc.:—ta`na denā, or ta`ne denā(-ko), To taunt, to ridicule, deride, etc.:—ta`na-zan, s.m. A reproacher, reviler, taunter, asperser, scoffer, etc.:—ta`na-zanī, s.f. Reproaching, taunting, etc.:—ta`na mārnā(-par), To jeer (at), scoff (at), to ridicule, deride, taunt, etc. (=ta`na denā):—ta`na-měhna, vulg. ta`na-menā, s.m.=ta`na.
