Ƴेत śveta, vulg. śvet, and svet, adj. White; dressed in white;—s.m. (f. -āor -nī), The colour white; a person clothed in white; a conch; a small white shell used as a coin, a cowrie; a white cloud; cumin-seed; silver; name of one of the dvīpasor minor divisions of the world (see śvet-dvīp); name of the planet Venus, or its regent śukra; name of the sixth range of the mountains which are fabled to divide the known continent, viz.the white mountains separating the varshasof Hiranmay and Romanak:—śvetārk (˚ta+ar˚), s.m.
