शङ्का, or शंका śakā, s.f. Doubt, uncertainty, hesitation, scruple; distrust, suspicion, misgiving, fear, apprehension; presumption; hope; error:—śakākarnā, v.n. To doubt, to hesitate; to be distrustful (of), to mistrust:—śakā-may, adj. (f. -ī), Full of doubt or uncertainty, doubtful; fearful, afraid, apprehensive:—śakā-hīn, adj.
