shal (prob. for A. shallor shalal, inf. n. of شلّ 'to become unsound or paralyzed' (an arm, etc.)), adj. & s.m. Having the hand luxated or withered; paralytic, palsied; languid, wearied; flaccid, soft;—a paralytic; a paralyzed or withered limb;—a kind of stained leather (inserted in the seams of shoes, saddles, etc.).
