شعبان

sha`bān (v.n. fr. تشعّب , 'to be separated,' v of شعب 'to separate'), s.m. The eighth month of the Arabian year (the 14th day of this month is the festival calledbarātor shab-barāt; on this day an angel is supposed to examine a record on which is written the names of the living).
