िशशु śiśu, s.m. A child, infant, a boy under eight years of age; the young of any animal (as a calf, a pup, etc.); a pupil; a disciple:—śiśu-pāl, s.m. lit.'Child-cherisher'; name of an ancient Hindūking (he opposed Krish, and was slain by him):—śiśū-mār, s.m. lit.'Child-killing'; the Gangetic porpoise, Delphinus gangeticus; 'the heavenly porpoise,' a form of Vishu described as a collection of the stars and planets);—a name of Vishu or Krish:—śiśu-nāg, s.m.
