सल sal [Prk. सल्लं; S. शल्यं], s.m. Stake, spike, splinter, thorn; difficulty, embarrassment, etc. (see śalya):—sal raćnā(apnā), To meet or manage a difficulty, etc., to manage difficult affairs (of a house, etc.); to prepare (one's own) funeral pyre, to become a satī:—sal-se baiṭhnā, v.n.
