ॐी srī, िसरी sirī, िसिर siri [Prk. िसरी, िसिर; S. ौी], s.f. Prosperity, happiness, success; improvement; beauty; a name of Lakshmīas goddess of prosperity, etc.; an honorific or respectful prefix to the names of deities and eminent persons, and an auspicious prefix at the beginning of manuscripts, letters, documents, etc. (see śrī):—srīkarnā, To commence in the name of Lakshmī, to make a beginning (syn. bismillāh karnā);—to affix (one's) signature (to), to witness (a bond, etc.):—srī-gaṇeśaynamah̥, Salutation (or reverence, or glory) to the divine Ganeś(syn. bismillāhi-raḥmani-raḥīm), an invocation to Ganeś:—srī-mahārāj, Your majesty:—srī-wast, s.m.
