सिथया sathiyā[Prk. सित्थओ; S. ःविःतकः], s.m. A kind of mystical mark made on persons or things to denote good luck (it is shaped like a Greek cross with the extremities of the four arms bent round in the same direction: Hindūs prefix the mark in vermilion at the beginning of their accountbooks at the commencement of a new year; and the same mark is made on the ground with flour at marriages and other ceremonies).
